Capture the warmth and spirit of Christmas as the Festival celebrates with eight weeks of special events, making Owen Sound the place to be this winter! From craft shows and parades to concerts and tours of homes, there is something for everyone.

And don't forget the lights, on daily from 5 to 11 pm.

Owen Sound Transit annually offers free tours on 2 separate evenings during the festival to view the light displays. For a normal transit fare, riders may board their regular transit routes to the bus terminal to start the free tour. Transit service on all regular routes is extended to 9:00 PM on these evenings only, to enable passengers to enjoy the free tour and subsequently take their regular transit route home.

The Festival of Northern Lights sponsors a “SHARE THE HOLIDAY MAGIC”contest to encourage participants to drive a senior by the light displays. These people may be relatives, acquaintances, neighbours, shut-ins, or residents of a retirement home who are unable to transport themselves. By undertaking this gesture, you may enter yourself in the contest to win a gift certificate to a restaurant from a list of Festival sponsors. Draws are held regularly during the Festival, and entries are eligible for all draws held (previous winners excluded). Entry forms are available at City Hall or at the kiosk in Harrison park. Drop off your entry form at the Harrison Park kiosk or City Hall. For more information, call 519-378-8266.
