Festival Electrician Terry Godin featured in the Ontario College of Trades Magazine

In the Fall of 2015, we received an inquiry from the Ontario College of Trades asking if the Festival currently had any certified trades people who work with us on the Festival. Long time volunteer and Festival Electrician, Terry Godin came to mind immediately.

We are grateful to Terry for agreeing to take time out of his busy schedule to participate in the article.  We also cannot thank Terry enough for the countless efforts on our behalf for the last almost 30 years.

The Festival Wraps up another Successful Season

Festival Wraps Up Another Successful Season

The Festival of Northern Lights Board of Directors would like to extend their most sincere appreciation to everyone who made this Festival season another huge success.  First and foremost, there are our volunteers.  These folks spend countless hours repairing and setting up displays, manning our Kiosk and promoting the Festival on our behalf.  This year is no exception.  It was another amazing job done by all.  It would not be right not to recognize the sponsors, old and new; who proudly put their name on a display this year.  Thank you for your support!

Of course the Festival would not be possible without the support of the City of Owen Sound.  Thank you to the Mayor, Council, City Manager and the many staff who assist in all areas, allowing the Festival to continue and be so successful.

We could not wrap up the season without sending another huge thank you to our friends at the Kiwanis Club of Owen Sound for the beautiful Christmas tree that was placed out front of City Hall.  Also, many thanks to our radio friends at 92.3 The Dock for their excellent ads and additional promotions that helped to draw visitors from all over Ontario.

The Festival is thrilled to announce that both donation and attendance totals well surpassed our expectations this year.  It is simply another indication of the wonderful job done by all involved.

We thought we would share just a few of the kind words we have received from our visitors and sponsors.

After living in Owen Sound for 30 years it was so nice to return and enjoy Christmas Day there. I just wanted to compliment the City of the incredible presentation of Christmas lights. Thank you. – Festival Visitor

I walked the lights last night for the first time this year and found my Dad’s name, it looks great and he would be very pleased to be part of this.

My Mother and two sisters look forward to seeing it soon.

Thank you very much. – Festival Sponsor

We went to Owen Sound yesterday and walked around the downtown lights and they were beautiful. We especially enjoyed the 12 days of Christmas. The highlight of the day however was Harrison Park. The wagon ride was very enjoyable but the Christmas story played out in lights was spectacular!!  Kudos for a job well done to the entire committee and all its volunteers and sponsors. – Festival Visitor

Best wishes for a fabulous 2016 and we look forward to seeing you again in November!
